Two
representatives of the National Institute of Forest Science
(NIFoS), Korea, namely Dr Hyun Park, NIFoS President,
and Dr Hungsoon Choi, Director of Global Forestry Division,
paid courtesy visit to APAFRI on 17 June 2022.
They
were given a brief tour of the Secretariat office and
had a discussion on APAFRI’s operation with Dr. Pin and
Dr. Gan. The guests later visited Dr. Ismail Parlan, Director
General of FRIM cum APAFRI Chairman, to learn more about
FRIM as well as to discuss possible research collaborations
among NIFoS, FRIM and APAFRI.
After
the discussion, they were brought to a nature trekking
within FRIM campus to experience the uniqueness of tropical
forest and see the ‘Crown Shyness’ phenomenon.
